Note that I am not an electrical engineer, although I practiced another branch of engineering for more than forty years. I enjoyed the electrical courses I had in school many years ago, and I wanted to see how well the Electrical Engineering 101 app would serve as a refresher.As the app's name implies, this is basic electrical theory, presented in a straightforward manner with well organized text and helpful color graphics. There are some mathematical equations used, but they're simple enough for most people to understand.Once you get through basic electrical theory and have an understanding of resistance, capacitance, and inductance, the course moves into electrical machines and network theorems, and ties the previous sections together. When you're ready, there are quizzes on electricity basics; series and parallel circuits, Kirchhoff's Law, and network theorems; and electrical machines (motors, generators, and transformers). There is also a helpful section that displays digital flash cards with a keyword or topic on the front and a definition or explanation on the back.Electrical Engineering 101 is an excellent app for anyone who needs a refresher on basic electricity.
